 Izakaya restaurant "Thank you dining"

Thank you dining is a relaxed and comfortable Izakaya restaurant in Fujinomiya.
You can feel as if visiting Japanese gland mothers house.The building is Japanese general style.It is a restaurant that is a renovated common style private house.

 When you go inside,you can see the room covered with many Tatami mats.The room is separated by a sliding door called Shouji or Fusuma.It is very common Japanese old style.

 The guests visiting there can sit on floor cushion called Zabuton.

Having a beer first is also very common Japanese style.

 Recently,salt and cabbage is becoming a standard menu of Izakaya. So,some is good ,some is not good.This salt and cabbage was the three best one I've ever had.

I went there with two friends of mine.The restaurant have three kind of vegetable fried chips. We wanted to have all,but we don't have much place of oily food because of our age.

So we asked 「Can you assort three kind of fries for small potion?」.
They made our wish come true!
Although they are so so,because they are chilled food,their welcoming heart made us happy.

Thank you dining serves beef from the foot of the Mt.Fuji.They have a lot of menu of beef such as roasted beef,beef sticks of various part, Nabe with beef offal,flied beef offal and so on.

We had roasted beef called Okamoto gyu.They were tender and juicy,and  had savory smell.We all enjoyed the dish.

To be happy to women,they have a few sweet menu.I had soft serve as usual.I love it.

Thank you dining is easy to go.It is in near Fujinomiya station.It's about 10minutes  on foot from the north exit of the station.Go to the north of the street in front of the station,turn right at the third corner. You will find Thank you dining  on your left.

One of the best tuna and sea urchin Sushi in Fujinomiya.

Recently,Kaiten-sushi which is a type of sushi restaurant served with conveyor-belt is getting popular.So most people even Japanese hesitate to go traditional sushi restaurant.

One of the reason is that sushi is far from cheap.We don't want to fail.

If you want to go good sushi restaurant in Fujinomiya,this article may be helped.

Yanagiya is in near Fujinomiya station.It's only 3~4 minutes from the north exit.Soon you will find the signboard on your left if go to the north of the street in front of the station.

 It's on upstairs at a two storied building.There are two other Izakaya restaurant in the building.

 It has 6~7 tables and 4 counter seats and very homely atmosphere.
The chef had trained in Kyoto after graduate cooking school.So he is a specialist of sushi and traditional Japanese meal brought in courses in Kyoto style.

 Their biggest charm is the high quality seafood.For examole, this appetizer.

 It has so fresh and sweet taste that my son and daughter(they usually don't eat  shells) ate all.

  Tenpula they served was light,crispy and moist.They was served with macha salt.It was great.

Sunomono:

 Sunomono is the marine with boild seafood and vegetables such as prawn,crab,octopus and so on.It was not bad.

 Although Yanagiya's selling point is sushi in kyoto style,I like Nigiri shushi which is Tokyo style better than Kyoto one.I've never had such a great tuna and sea urchin  around Fujinomiya.

Nigiri tokujou 松嵐特上 has excellent tuna called Akami.Its meat is evenly textured and soft with good fat for an elegantly lean taste.

It also has Yuba made from soy beans.Yuba is kind of Tofu.It is more creamy and richer than Tofu.

Nigiri tokujou 白糸特上 has great fatty tuna called Chu Toro.The meat has the soft quality and good balance of fat.It also has really good flavor.

My love for sea urchin called Uni is second to none.I have eaten them countless times.Uni they served is one of the best one I ever had.It was so fresh and sweet.

They serve more reasonable meal at lunch time.

Excellent butter milk curry made by Asagiri milk maker

Do you like curry?I love it so much that I even traveled India.This is not an authentic curry restaurant.It is run by milk maker.That's why we can have so rich taste.

The curry shop is in Asagiri food park.Asagiri is in north part of Fujinomiya near by Yamanashi prefecture.

The park has many attractive shops , restaurants and facilities.They have wide and cozy green glass play ground,power spots and small food factorys.You can see the process of making Jamanese sweets ,Sake and so on there.

One of them is Asagiri milk maker.Asagiri is famous for its farming and dairy industry.Asagiri milk is local milk maker.Their daily foods are loved by many local people because of their high qualities.

The curry you have there is made with plenty of their nice dairy products.The bigining of butter chicken curry is called Tandoori chicken.It was the way to use the rest of its marinate sauce which was full of yogurt.

That's why butter chicken curry needs a lot of dairy products,and the quality of them must be key of the taste.

The curry  is served with 4 slices of small bread and yogurt with soft serve.You can drink fresh milk putting there for the tasting if you like.

The curry is so rich taste and flavor.It will not lose the curry made in Indian restaurant.I think they are good enough to satisfy curry fan.


You can also enjoy watching interesting process of making milk and cheese.

The best Kakigori in Fujinomiya,Unjou.

Don't you want to eat something made cool your body?We have nice sweets called Kakigori which is Japanese shaved ice.It is most recommended hot summer treat of Japan.Also we have the best Kakigori cafe here in Fujinomiya called Unjyo.

There are about 20 seats.

What is the difference?


Generally in Japan,the ice of Kakigori is crunchy.It makes headache easily.Also it is served with various flavored syrup such as strawberry, melon,lemon,condensed milk and so on,and they are almost manufactured syrup.

The ice of Unjyo is so fluffy.It's because of the water made ice.It is meltwater coming from Mt. Fuji taking long time.Unjyo ice is made of that water.It has been frozen slowly and carefully over 2~3days. That's why nobady eaten them have headache.

Not only that,the syrup on the ice is special.Surprisingly they are almost hand made using many local ingredients.

They have a thing about ingredients.Blueberry,strawberry and milk are made in Fujinomiya.Tea leaf is made in Shizuoka.Mizore (only suger syrup)is made from 3 kind of suger such as Wasanbon(famous Japanese tasty suger).

I'm sure firstly you astonish to its size.It is so big that I can't always eat without spilling.It is not only that reason I always spill.It is also hard to pour syrup on the ice.I'm telling you that you should pour it very very carefully.

The ice is soft and gentle.It has gone out of my mouth in a moment with regret.
Strawberry and blueberry syrup are so nectarous.They are not sugary but gentle sweet.

Greentea and Azuki also doesn't make you disappointed.The flavor of greentea is so vivid and rich.Azuki is cooked fluffy and  its taste is rich enough. You can find Azuki on the top and inside.

They also have a hut that have 4~5 tables.It has perfect air condition so you would enjoy waiting times there even in the winter.




I have to address you a few bad things.Firstly it is about location of Unjyo.It takes long distance from the train station.The nearest one is Fujinomiya taking 30 minutes by car.

Secondly,it's very crowded in summer holiday season especially afternoon.Sometimes wait 90 minutes.If you want to go there when it's not crowded,you should go there before midday.

Kuronkyu macrobiotics style summer sweets

Don't you get hot easly?If so,It might be worth to try this summer desert,called Kuronkyu.

Kuronkyu is the Hong Kong origin of the sweets.Its looks and tastes both are so cool.It is sweet enough without suger to put many fruits.This is the macrobiotics way to cook.

Ingrediense

fruits (watermelon,blueberry,orange,kiwi,whatever you like)
water 500cc
Kanten powder  5g(vegan gelatin made from seaweed)
nip of salt
soda 

How to make

1.Dice fruits.

2:Put 1 into the round ice tray up to 60~70%.

3.Put 5g Kanten powder and nip of salt into pan with water.

4.Heat 3 until it boils.

5:Pure 4 into 3 to overflowing from small hales.

6:Cool 1 hour in the refrigerator.

7:Serve with soda.


Kuronkyu is very easy to make.Why don't you give it try!
