Nice Izakaya restaurant with private rooms,Gen san.

Are you looking for somewhere to drink in private?Gen san is Japanese Izakaya style restaurant that only has private rooms.
Gen san is very popular among local people in Fujinomiya.It is run by the company who has a reputation for taste.
I was surprised at the food they served.They hasn't cut corners even the small dishes such as boiled peanuts and green soybeans.They were so juicy and rich.

If you visit Gen san,you should try to have Iburigako,which is Japanese traditional pickles from north part of Japan.They serve with cream cheese.Though Iburigako has rich smokey flavor,it really suits cream cheese.

Every food I had there that night were great.Sasimi had flesh various kind of fish and plating was so beautiful.

They Also have good selection of Japanese Sake.They have various local Sake such as Takasago,Isojiman from Shizuoka,Hallaosan from Niigata,Tengumai from Isikawa,and so on.
They have various kind of rooms from for 2 parsons to for 10、maximum 30.You might had better to reserve seat especially on weekend.
Do you like vegetable?We have a lot of nice ones especially in this season in Japan.Japanese herb called Shiso is one of the best Japanese like vegetables in hot and humited Japanese summer.
I cook vegetable macrobiotics way every day.
Today,I will show you a macrobiotics vegetable dish for early summer.
1.Put 30g chopped Negi and 10g chopped ginger into the mixer or cutter with 2 large table spoon and nip of salt.Continue mixing until they got smooth.
2.Cut the vegetables as the shape eating easily.Boil the asparagaus for 1~2min.Fry the eringi with olive oil and salt with low heat until they got tender.
3.Put the cooked vegetable ,1+1/2 large table spoon Negi paste,vineger, soy souce, sesami oil,nip of solt and Sicuan pepper into a bowl ,and mix together.
4.Serve on a plate with Shiso flower.

Do you know what's the local speciallity in Fujinomiya?
It's not only Fujinomiya Yakisoba but also boiled peanuts.
Most people eat dried peanuts,but we have boiled ones.Because we have plenty of flesh peanuts here.My hometown plant many peanuts. Volcanic ash soil here suits to grown peanuts.We have 100 years history of growing them.
That's why it's normal way to boil peanuts here.Some people feel weird when they try soft peanuts,but the feeling is most likely getting better.
There are the people who mix the peanuts with soft serves.They have made it one of the best known Fujinomiya local food. I know that is in Umyana.
There is the big flesh vegetable market called Umyana in Togami Fujinomiya.They have soft serves stand at the entrance.You can find the soft serve there.

I was excited when I saw it for the first time.The object(called Monaka) put on the serves was so realistic. That looks is definitely nice for instagram.
It was so rich taste. You can feel thick peanuts flavor and flesh cream in it.I heard they only use flesh milk and peanuts grown in Fujinomiya.

They have some other soft serves,too such as milk,Maccha and strawberry.
They also have seasonal special gelato.

at Mori-no-eki in Huketsu in Yamanashi
Sorry in advance,you can't get it in Fujinomiya.It is in Yamanashi next to Fujinomiya.It tooks about 30 minutes by car from Fujinomiya.And it is in the middle of 5 lakes around Mt, Fuji.
Do you know Narusawa Hyouketsu?It is ice cave made by Mt.Fuji eruption.
You can find corn taste soft serves at the entrance house of the cave.The wooden house have asnack stand , a souvenir shop and a ticket office.

They sell some snacks other than soft serves such as Yoshida udon, Fujinomiya yakisoba,Houtou bun.They are all famous local food .
Even so, the most famous selling food there is corn taste soft serves,I'm sure.
Originally,they sell corn potage .It was not only good taste but also making visitors get warm.Because Hyouketsu has cold temperature inside throughout tne year. It has become famous over time.
I didn't know when they have begun to sell corn taste soft serves though,I feel like eating in youth.It might have long history.
The taste of it is very unique. It is fusion of ice cream and cone.I have not had the taste like it ever.I like it more I can't to wait to take photos.

Gusuta-re is Italian taste restaurant like Tavern.Though the material from Hokkaido are good enough,the other kind of food has less power. That's why the taste of food are depend on dishes.
I was surprised at grilled tomato and fried poteto.It was the best one I've ever had before.

And fried poteto was also exciting.They definitely use good fresh poteto.
But,I was disappointed at cheese in mashed poteto.It was easy processed food unfortunately.

What the most wiered thing is that Raclette was absolutely no good. It must be best selling food of all food they serve.

I was also disappointed at ahijo.The oil they use was not good.
So it made the dish ruin.The bread was not good,too.

They serve many good seafood from Hokkaido such as Hokke, Ikura,Scallops.I'm sorry that I can't say anything about that because I didin't eat them at that time.However,as for my experience,I guess they would be good.
I'm not sure why they serve such different taste of dishes,Though,the unbalance could be making charm.Come to think of that,the furniture or interior decorating was also unbalanced there.I'm sure you must be surprised at the rest room.
In a word,this restaurant is unique.If you want to have unique experience,

It is on the top of Iwamoto mountain.The cafe is in the middle of nature. When I was there,I could feel fresh breeze and hear birds humming from the forest.They also have marvellous view.

You can see the city area in Fuji ,and Suruga Bay.

They have comfortable chairs and sofas inside.Sofas are more relaxation seats,I think .Maybe you can ask them having sofas.

They open from 9 to 5.They serve morning special from 9 to 11.They look good and reasonable.

They have enough amount of fresh vegetable for each dishes.And they were so much that we couldn’t eat everything.
I was very surprised.Because many people were making the line in spite of weekday.This cafe has opened this spring,so it's getting popular and hot spot in these days.
I don't think that the reason are only good food and location.There are different taste of atmosphere such as sophisticated ,urban and nature.
When they are mixed up,it attracts peaple.And it makes them go there again.
You can have excellent relax time on the comfortable sofas in nice atmosphere with good food and view there.
If you want to have heart warming experience at a restaurant,you should go to Andante in Fujinomiya.You can find special foods for healing someone's heart.

They have wooden deck and large green glass garden in front of them.Sometimes visitor put the hummock there and enjoy their time.

When I went there with friends for the first time,they were not ready to open.We said「 We can wait for you forever.Because we have enough time today,or rather we need enough time for chatter.」
They not only welcomed us but also surved unexpected dishes as a token of their apology.
Every dishes we took were so good. I took the salmon and spinach quiche.I could enjoy genuine taste.It made me notice that they don't use any fake ingredient like shortening ,mixed flowers and any processed food.
I guess they take long time for cooking and do their best any time.
They were filled the hearts of hospitality.I am sure it will satisfy you.

Andante is famous for its waffle.They gave us it as a token of their apology as I wrote above.The waffle was tightly packed rather than light like genuine Belgian style.It was so nice.

The only thing I am sorry is they only open weekends.
But it is worth to use your weekends for going there.
If so,you should go to Do ikki in Fujinomiya.
Because they has wonderful panorama view.
You can see it from the many window side seats.
They also have romantic bench seats which makes you close each other .
There are two open air tables.They are best places in spring,summer and autumn.You can feel the gentle breeze of the forest and hear the chorus of birds.
At the night time you can see amazing night view from there.
They have not only nice view but also food.
The most popular dish is Naporitan.
It is Japanese special pasta fried with sliced ham,onion,pepper with ketchup.

You can choose other 3 taste of pasta.
They have good enough kind of bread dishes.
Most Japanese like dish is Anko toast.It is the baked toast on sweet beans.
This is it adding fruits version.

They have 38 years history .They have been loved by many people living here for a long time.
I also used to go Do ikki when I was a youth.I had some fun nights at there with my friends .I was sometimes jealous of lovers there.Time flys so fast😉
It is amazing that they have kept great atmosphere same as at that time.
Or rather it's getting better.The years have mellowed this cafe.
